Western Bulldogs midfielder Adam Treloar has put pen to paper on a new deal, adding another 12 months at Whitten Oval.

It will be his first contract since the last deal he signed with Collingwood, who have been paying part of his salary since he crossed to the Bulldogs.

The gun on-baller began his career at GWS as a start-up Giant, and has played 258 games since he debuted in 2012.

"I am super grateful to re-sign," Treloar said.

"There is nowhere else I'd rather be. The minute I walked into the footy club, I felt loved and embraced.

"It feels like I have been here a lot longer than the five years, and there is a lot of unfinished business from a personal and team perspective.

"It hasn't been the year I have wanted individually, but hopefully I can be a part of a very successful team in 2026."

Following an incredible 2024 season that resulted in a maiden All-Australian blazer, Treloar was hindered by an injury that limited his output, but he is still in the hunt for a premiership with the club's VFL outfit this weekend against the Southport Sharks.

"I'll always be someone that relishes the chance to represent the football club and to do that this week for Footscray in a grand final is exciting," he said.

"We're going into this week really wanting to win the game, and to be able to lift any silverware for the football club would be a great honour."

Bulldogs EGM of Football Sam Power said he has been impressed with Treloar's determination and diligence to get back to football after his body let him down at times throughout 2025.

"At his best, Adam is one of the most damaging midfielders in the competition, and we're really thrilled to have him sign on for 2026," Power said.

"Despite difficulty through injury during this campaign, Adam has been diligent and resilient in his recovery from calf setbacks, while continuing to support our program through his leadership and standards.

"His form and commitment in recent weeks through the VFL have shown that Adam continues to have the attributes to influence games, giving our young players great exposure alongside an All-Australian calibre player.

"With a full pre-season on the horizon, we're really confident as a Club that Adam can once again influence the AFL competition next season."

Treloar and the Footscray Bulldogs will line up against the Sharks on Sunday, September 21 at IKON Park at 2:15pm (AEST).
