The 2024 trade and draft windows formed a busy off-season for many AFL clubs.
Whether it was a big-name free agent on the move, a highly touted youngster capable of creating immediate impact, a steal late on draft night, or a low-cost trade filling a list need, each club found a player that helped shape their 2025 season.
This isn't a ranking of your club's best-performed recruit, but instead a player that outperformed what your club paid to get them - a player who addressed a list need, had an impact and played an important role in your team's system. Here's one recruit each AFL club nailed.
Adelaide
Alex Neal-Bullen
It was a superb first season at West Lakes for the former Demon, with his work-rate and reliability complementing the flair of Izak Rankine and Josh Rachele perfectly. Neal-Bullen cost the Crows just a second-round pick, giving the Demons back the second-round pick they originally received in exchange for Shane McAdam.
Playing predominantly across half-forward, Neal-Bullen averaged 16.3 disposals and kicked 17 goals, including a career best 31-disposal, three-goal effort in a Round 19 victory over the Suns. He also amassed a career best 26 coaches votes.
Given the Crows essentially traded McAdam for Neal-Bullen, it was a clear win for the Crows' recruiting team.
Other recruits: Isaac Cumming, Sid Draper, Lachlan McAndrew, James Peatling, Tyler Welsh
