St Kilda recruit Tom De Koning looks primed to play a major role in the early part of 2026.

Max King was among the names missing from the main part of the session as he continues to recover from a knee injury, which kept him sidelined across 2025, while Alix Tauru ran laps as he was one of many to have his loads managed.

Despite his first pre-season in his new colours being interrupted by a calf complaint, De Koning's athleticism, jump and marking were all on display as he duelled Rowan Marshall.

Jack Silvagni took part in the match simulation, having battled a groin injury over the summer, with Marcus Windhager, Sam Flanders and Max Hall among the standouts of the session.

Draftee Kye Fincher also showed some pleasing signs playing as a forward, with his marking and pressure catching the eye.

The Saints also took part in situation-based training, drills and the midfield group honed stoppage setup across the two-hour session.

Tauru, Jack Higgins, Jack Sinclair, Jack Macrae and Mattaes Phillipou were among the big names to sit out match simulation due to load management.
