Tiger banned for kneeing, Eagles recruit suspended for striking

The AFLW have revealed five charges have been laid from the weekend’s action.

Richmond utility Laura McCelland and West Coast defender Evangeline Gooch have been handed one-game suspensions by the Match Review Officer following separate incidents from Round 3 of the AFLW season.

McClelland has been charged for Kneeing, with the incident involving Dockers star Ebony Antonio being graded as Careless Conduct, Medium Impact and Groin Contact.

The Tigers midfielder has accepted the one-match ban with an early plea, and will be sidelined for Richmond's Round 4 match against the Suns.

Meanwhile, Gooch has been charged for Striking Crows midfielder Justine Mules following an incident during the third quarter of Saturday's match between West Coast and Adelaide.

With the incident having been graded as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact and High Contact, Gooch will miss her side's Round 4 clash against St Kilda after accepting the penalty.

In other incidents from Round 3, Crow Rachelle Martin (Rough Conduct), Tiger Tayla Stahl (Rough Conduct) and Giant Katie Loynes (Rough Conduct) have all been handed reprimands for separate incidents from the weekend.
