Former Greater Western Sydney list manager Stephen Silvagni believes the Giants would be "in the mix" for departing Kangaroos forward Ben Brown.

Several clubs have lined up for the 27-year-old's services after North Melbourne confirmed his imminent departure from Arden Street, with Melbourne seen as the frontrunners.

With Jeremy Cameron exercising his free agency rights this off-season and electing Geelong as his club of choice, Silvagni has tipped the Giants to be holding some interest in Brown.

โ€œI would think the Giants would be in the mix,โ€ he said on AFL Trade Radioโ€™s The Late Trade.

โ€œThe fact that theyโ€™re losing Jeremy Cameron, you look at their key forwards there, Harry Himmelberg isnโ€™t particularly tall.

โ€œThey have Jeremy Finlayson who is in and out of the team and then young Jake Riccardi, whoโ€™s first couple of games were pretty good and then fell away.

โ€œI would think that heโ€™d be up on their board, whether they make an approach or not (is up for debate), but heโ€™d certainly be up on the board depending on what happens with Jeremy Cameron.โ€
