2. Dylan Moore
One of the star Hawks in 2024, Moore achieved a career-best season and firmly placed himself as one of the competition's best general forwards.Â
Moore's work-rate underpins his strong statistical figures, with vision often shown of Moore disposing of the football at one end of the ground, before sprinting up to the forward 50 to once again get on the end of the transition. This allowed Moore to score, or set up teammates, multiple times per game.
Moore's development as a leader at Hawthorn also was prominent in Hawthorn's mid-season turnaround. As vice-captain, the 25-year-old led the Hawks in James Sicily-less matches, and his selflessness and work-rate led by example.
Moore had a career-best year in front of goal, scoring 36 majors, whilst also recording nearly 20 disposals per game.
A five-goal, 27-disposal performance against Adelaide encapsulated Moore's growth from a delisted player just four years ago. Even within kicking a bag, Moore was still able to dish out opportunities to teammates, recording two goal assists as well.
Following Moore's breakout year, he earned his first All-Australian nod. With Hawthorn aiming for another finals appearance in 2025, Moore has the potential to continue his ascendance as one of the league's best general forwards and perhaps earn back-to-back All-Australian honours.
