With calling teams for each broadcaster well established as the season begins anew, we've cast an eye over the current crop of those occupying the special comments chair.
There are some very familiar names, who've dominated the space for considerable amounts of time, and some fresh and exciting newcomers, too.
Who are those adding flavour and insight to a call team?
1Kane Cornes
Another relative newcomer to the art of live sports broadcasting, Kane Cornes is the loudest mouth in the industry. Love him or loathe him, his divisive opinions are always well-researched, delivered with character, and staunchly defended. The Power champion makes powerful enemies, and doesn't necessarily hate that fact.
Pair all of the above with an enviable understanding of player performance and team objectives, after 300 games at the top level, and a mind-boggling schedule, and you get a worthy, back-to-back winner of the industry's most coveted media award - the Alf Brown.
Cornes sets the agenda (pun intended), defends his takes with vigour, and like it or not, is rarely ever wrong. Watching him do it in real time, during massive Friday night clashes, for example, is something else entirely. A worthy holder of top spot in these rankings.

Cornes tries too hard to be controversial to be good.
