The list of the names still out-of-contract at the end of 2021 is star-studded.
With the mid-way point of the season approaching, clubs will want to be getting their big names off the market as opposition teams prepare offers for some of the game's biggest names.
The likes of Patrick Cripps, Marcus Bontempelli, Harry McKay, Jack Billings and Zach Merrett are all out of contract and could be tempted by big money and long-term offers to leave their current clubs.
Every club will have their eyes on potential new recruits, but they may need to get their own ducks in a row before looking elsewhere.
We've named the look at the priority out-of-contract re-sining for every club. Did we get it right?
Hawthorn
Changkuoth Jiath
This one is as much about marketability as it is Jiath as a footballer. Jiath is extremely talented and looks to have a fruitful career ahead of him, but the Hawks need as much good publicity as possible. They need to give fans a reason to get excited and come to the footy, which "CJ" provides. He's a human highlight reel and can light it up in the brown and gold for another decade.
