Entering any new AFL season comes with a level of pressure and scrutiny, but it can rise to astronomical heights if you're fighting for your career.

Heading into the 2026 campaign, over 300 players have yet to have their futures confirmed. However, the majority of those are more than likely to remain at their current club, seek a new opportunity or hang up the boots.

This leaves a host of players in contract limbo, and their efforts in the new season will determine where they will be next year...

Bailey Scott

After three consistent seasons at AFL level, Bailey Scott took a backseat at North Melbourne in 2025, playing 12 games with five as a substitute.

Scott's form wavered, and Alastair Clarkson made the decision to leave him out of the senior side.

The Kangaroos need to continue their strong stance, and if the 25-year-old doesn't respond, his time at Arden Street could come to a close.

The same can be said for Callum Coleman-Jones, whose wretched run of injuries could turn him into the biggest 'what if' athlete.
