In a relatively huge swing of the AFL television pendulum, The Front Bar has won the arm wrestle for ratings over The Footy Show for the second straight week.

The Front Bar, hosted by Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang peaked at 249,000 viewers in Melbourne alone on Thursday.

The Front Bar averaged 170,000 viewers in Melbourne, compared to The Footy Show's 152,000 during their most recent head-to-head airing.

The Front Bar claimed more than just the AFL capital, they actually even won out the three big AFL states, averaging 89,000 viewers in Perth and Adelaide combined, compared to The Footy Show with just 83,000 viewers.

Their success over the last two weeks will come at their rival's demise and disappointment for Channel Nine personalities Sam Newman, Rebecca Maddern and Eddie McGuire.

Retaining other big figures like Chris Judd, Dane Swan and Brendan Fevola has cost Channel Nine and The Footy Show a lot of money over the off-season, so they'll be hoping to pick it up soon.
