The five surprise early-season bolters

Daniel Rich The 2008 number seven draft pick has continued his career revival with a solid start to 2019. The half-back flanker may be credited for the Lions' hot start, averaging 25 disposals, five score involvements, six rebound 50's and eight marks over the first three rounds. The 28-year-old looks as though he is a vital part of the Lions defence working with veteran Luke Hodge to manage the young Brisbane backline, a late-career resurgence is something Rich will be striving for. GWS forward then Jeremy Cameron set the balance of the world level, booting seven goals against the Tigers on Saturday afternoon to retain top spot. Averaging 7.7 score involvements from 16 disposals, the 26-year-old will need to continue his form for the Suns to stay on the winner's list. The 23-year-old was a fringe player for the Eagles last year, coming in and out of the side for most of the season and when Andrew Gaff was suspended for eight matches for his hit on Fremantle's Andrew Bradshaw, it was Sheed's time to shine. Sheed played his role in the Eagle's finals series but certainly did more in the Grand Final as the classy left-footer has finally shaken off the 'fringe player' tag. Averaging just under 30 disposals and 8.7 clearances a game, expect 'Libba' to be back to his best in 2019 on the back of his early form. Averaging 21.9 disposals at the end of last year, Boak has burst out of the blocks this season, now averaging 33 disposals, in a new role in the midfield has bolstered his numbers, which sees him ranked 3rd in the competition for disposals and 2nd for score involvements. Will the former skipper continue his resurgence with the addition of new co-captain Ollie Wines to the midfield?
