How important is another win this weekend?

For a team whose probability of returning the the September action after a hiatus last season are rated below a two in 10 chance, making hay while the sun is at its highest point is a must.

Coming into this weekend, the Giants have managed to win three of their past four games after a disastrous start to the season, and also reside four rungs above their opponents, Essendon.

Although both the number crunchers and the tipsters have Leon Cameron's percussion as warm favourites for their Saturday afternoon fixture with the Dons, this same line of thinking is unlikely to be extended for the remainder of the season.

With the Orange and Charcoal clad side set to face Richmond, West Coast and Brisbane before the bye, the hatches will need to be battened west of Central Station soon if they are to remain within touching distance of the cut off for finals football.
