With six weeks of the marathon run, the line between contenders and pretenders is becoming much more opaque.

Although 94.4% of the competition's 18-teams have now put a win on the board, the gap between first and last is still chasmic.

As we edged toward the end of the season's second month, the question marks surrounding every side – whether they are leading the league or languishing – are still aplenty.

With Round 7 set to start this Friday night, we have cast an eye across each of the league's combatants and have sought to answer the key questions facing each and every one of them.

Fremantle

Can they break their Derby drought?

With a current place in the eight, a winning record so far this season and their opponents potentially missing more than 1,200 games of experience, there has never been a better time for Fremantle to end their dry spell in Derbies.

As it currently stands, the Dockers have not defeated the Eagles since Round 3, 2015, having lost 10 games in a row by an average of more than six goals.

With the Eagles possibly missing a collective of Hurn, Kennedy, McGovern, Petrucelle, Ryan, Shuey, Venables and Yeo, if Justin Longmuir's lumpers cannot claim victory this weekend, their fans must be wondering if they ever will again.

Although they are neither the favourites with Stats Insider, the bookies or the majority of tipsters, I can personally smell an upset.

However, there is a very real possibility that I may be demented.
