With six weeks of the marathon run, the line between contenders and pretenders is becoming much more opaque.

Although 94.4% of the competition's 18-teams have now put a win on the board, the gap between first and last is still chasmic.

As we edged toward the end of the season's second month, the question marks surrounding every side – whether they are leading the league or languishing – are still aplenty.

With Round 7 set to start this Friday night, we have cast an eye across each of the league's combatants and have sought to answer the key questions facing each and every one of them.

How big a banana peel is Saturday night's clash?

When one considers Port Adelaide's recent form against the Lions in the Sunshine state, a contention fueled with caution can be constructed.

However, with the Power appearing to have turned a corner and Brisbane appearing beatable without their Brownlow medalist, Ken Hinkley's men are sure to be licking their lips at the prospect of knocking off a fellow contender.

The fact that the Alberton based club has lost their last pair of contests against the Lions on their home deck by an average of 27 points, has most tipsters and the statistically minded predicting the trend continuing.

However, with Darcy Gardiner also sidelined, Brisbane's back six has lost both a key interceptor, a lock down defender and is something Port – a team that produced 14 goals from seven different scorers last week – should be looking to exploit.

Personally, I believe even a Boak-less Power side will win on every line and on the scoreboard, but if recent history between these two pugilists has told us anything, it is that Tom Jonas and his men should expect to wear a few punches on the night too.

Either way, it should be an absolute cracker.
