When Zero Digital Sports was first founded in December of 2014, it was probably not in anyone's wildest imagination that we'd still be sitting here a decade later with millions of Australians consuming our content every month.

Dating back to the end of 2014 - a period which fell right in the middle of Essendon's supplements saga, and just months after Hawthorn collected their second of three straight premierships - much has happened in the football world.

From legends and teams etching their names into the history books, to scandals, tragedies, and shocks, the past 10 years alone have been filled with memorable and infamous moments - both on and off the field.

So, without further ado, here are 10 of the biggest stories since the inception of Zero Digital Sports in December 2014.

8. AFL battles through COVID pandemic

The AFL was forced to suspend the 2020 season just four days in as the COVID-19 Pandemic reached new heights in Australia.

The league played Round 1 in front of no crowds in what was a gloomy outcome, while Round 2 wouldn't come until mid-June, with the AFL shortening the season to 17 home and away matches for each team.

Matches were cut to 16-minute quarters as the fixture was heavily condensed to accommodate the changes, while players were placed in hubs across the country.

Richmond would manage to win the premiership that year - their third flag in four seasons - with a win over Geelong at the Gabba. The season decider was the first outside of Victoria and was held at night.

Australia and the AFL continued to battle through the unprecedented period in the years that ensued, with the 2021 campaign also heavily impacted by the ongoing pandemic.

Clubs were again positioned in quarantine hubs while fans were welcomed back to matches across the nation, with the 2021 Grand Final held in Perth amid the state's strict lockdown policies.

All players were required to be vaccinated to take part in the 2022 AFL season, with Carlton's Liam Jones deciding to step away from his role due to the league's mandated policy.
