Backline Jack Scrimshaw Scrimshaw was all class across halfback helping the Hawks upset GWS. His ball used was elite as he gathered 28 disposals at 85% efficiency. He also finished with 9 inside 50s, 4 score involvements and 6 marks as he kept the Giants forwards accountable rebounding the ball outside of the defensive 50. Steven May May was a standout defender for the Demons, as he made life difficult for his opponent and the rest of the Bombers team. He had 8 intercepts, 7 marks, 4 score involvements, 18 disposals at 100% efficiency. May has been one of the league's best defenders all season and is likely to get an All-Australian nod at the end of the season. Merrett's new contract is a steal for the Bombers, as the star mid would have commanded over one million dollars a season from rival clubs.
