Team of the Week : Round 13

We only had seven games on the weekend, but there were still a lot of fantastic performances!

Defenders

Back Pocket: Tom Stewart (Geelong)

Stewart continues to go from strength to strength and he was one of Geelong’s best in their 18-point loss to Richmond on Sunday. Stewart finished with 24 disposals and had seven rebound 50’s.

Full back: Heath Grundy (Sydney)

The Swans premiership defender was superb in his 250th game with 23 disposals at a very impressive 91% efficiency to go with his seven marks.

Back Pocket - Jake Lloyd (Sydney)

Lloyd was terrific in defence finishing with 28 disposals and eight marks for Sydney in their 15-point win over the Eagles.

Half Back - James Sicily (Hawthorn)

Sicily was instrumental in the Hawks big win over the Crows on Saturday night. The young gun finished with 24 disposals, eight marks and three goals, including a couple of big long bombs beyond the fifty metre arch.

Centre Half Back - Nick Vlastuin (Richmond)

Vlastuin played one of the best games of his career with 21 disposals and 11 marks and was instrumental in the Tigers win over the Cats on Sunday at the MCG.

Half Back - Dan Houston (Port Adelaide)

The young defender played his best game for the year for the Power with 20 disposals at a very respectable 80% disposal efficiency and seven marks.

Midfielders

Wing - Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn)

The Brownlow Medal favourite was brilliant for the Hawks in their convincing victory against the Crows on Saturday. Mitchell had 40 disposals, 16 of which were contested and eight clearances.

Centre - Joel Selwood (Geelong)

The Cats skipper had one of his best games of the year in their 18-point loss to the Tigers. Selwood finished with 29 disposals and two goals.

Wing - Elliot Yeo (West Coast)

Yeo was clearly the Eagles best in their 15-point loss to Sydney on Friday night. The former Lion finished with 30 disposals, two goals, eight tackles and five marks.

Ruck - Nick Naitanui (West Coast)

Naitanui won the ruck battle against his former teammate Callum Sinclair in the Eagles' loss to the Swans on Friday night. The Eagles superstar finished with 33 hit outs and 15 disposals of which 12 of those were contested.

Rover - Josh Kennedy (Sydney)

The star midfielder had another brilliant game for the Swans in their win over the Eagles by 15 points on Friday night. Kennedy finished with 28 disposals with 15 of those being contested and eight score involvements.

Ruck Rover - Ollie Wines (Port Adelaide)

Wines enjoyed the wet and slippery conditions with a brilliant game that featured 35 disposals at 80% efficiency and 11 score involvements. This to go with a best on ground performance the week before.

Forwards

Half Forward - Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)

The future Dogs skipper was one of their best in their 57-point loss to the Power on Thursday night. Bontempelli finished with 23 disposals, ten clearances and two goals.

Centre Half Forward - Tom Lynch (Gold Coast)

The Gold Coast skipper was back to his best on Saturday in the Suns narrow two-point loss to the Saints. Lynch finished with three goals to go with six marks and 16 disposals.

Half Forward - Oliver Florent (Sydney)

The Sydney young gun is in career-best form and finished with 29 disposals and six marks in the Swans win over the Eagles on Friday night.

Forward Pocket - Robbie Gray (Port Adelaide)

The Port superstar proved that he is in a league of his own on Friday night in his team’s 57-point win over the Dogs. Gray was incredibly clean in the wet conditions and finished with three goals and 28 disposals.

Full Forward -Nat Fyfe (Fremantle)

The Brownlow Medallist was instrumental in the Dockers convincing 57-point win over the Blues on Saturday. Fyfe finished with 30 touches, seven inside 50’s and two goals.

Forward Pocket -Lachie Neale (Fremantle)

Neale had a blinder for the Dockers in their 57 point win over the Blues finishing with 33 disposals at 88% efficiency as well as three goals.

Interchange

Jack Redden (West Coast)

The former Lion is having his best year at the Eagles and on Friday night he finished with 28 disposals with 13 contested and five marks.

Jack Steven (St Kilda)

Steven was fantastic for the Saints in their two-point come from behind win over the Suns on Saturday. He finished with 28 disposals and 12 clearances.

Jack Gunston (Hawthorn)

The former Adelaide Crow was brilliant for the Hawks in their big win over his former side on Saturday night. Gunston finished with 27 disposals and seven marks.

Matt Crouch (Adelaide)

Crouch was one of the Crows best in an otherwise disappointing evening for last year’s grand finalist. The gun midfielder finished with 30 disposals and six marks.
