Sydney midfielder Taylor Adams has confirmed he was involved in an altercation near Club Rose Bay, a nightclub in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, on Saturday night.
NSW Police stated on Sunday that Adams was in an argument with two men close to the venue, one of whom punched Adams in the face, which sent him to the ground, causing him to lose consciousness. Adams was then taken to St Vincent's Hospital via ambulance.
Adams addressed the incident on his Instagram story on Monday.
"To everyone that has sent their love, thank you. I am doing okay," Adams wrote.
"This is now a police matter and I won't be commenting further."
Swans senior coach Dean Cox also addressed the incident on Tuesday, clarifying the circumstances leading up to the altercation.
"He was out the front, trying to go home," Cox said.
"He was obviously taken to hospital and was released early Sunday morning. I spoke to him Sunday and now it's a matter of Taylor and the NSW Police.
"We've had a couple of players that have been concussed from incidents in the past. Part of that is protocols and time away to make sure they can recover.
"He's going well. It's just a matter that he can continue through that process like he would [with a] footy incident, or something that happened off field.
"As soon as the incident happened, we were made aware. The conversations we have with Taylor, his wife and the people at the football club is something we addressed Monday morning."

The hospitalisation follows a luckless run of injuries for the 32-year-old, who suffered a partial tear to his Achilles in December, sidelining him during the pre-Christmas training block and into January.
Cox revealed his potential timeline to return for what he called a "quite unique" injury.
"He's halfway through his rehab. He spent a lot of time getting back on the training track and following that program intensely," Cox said.
"He was always going to be a 12-week injury or so. It was quite unique, that injury, so the timeframe was always going to be sketchy for when he could get back.
"He's been building into a running program so hopefully he's back within the group in a couple of weeks."
