The links between Collingwood's Nick Daicos and Tasmania continue to circulate ahead of the club's AFL introduction in 2028.

Daicos is locked away until 2028 at the Pies, but hasn't rushed into an extension, nor has his team and agent, Paul Connors, denied the potential move.

Devils CEO Brendon Gale, when quizzed on Channel Seven's The Agenda Setters, provided some context as to what the newest club in the competition could offer the Pies.

"Well, in the case of Nick, I could imagine we could offer him a compelling package, but it's (about) what they want ... and clearly he's contracted," Gale said.

"So there'd be a whole stack of draft capital (that we would have to offer).

"And look, there's just a lot of speculation about Nick. He's a wonderful player. He's going to be eagerly sought after.

"But, you know, we've got to get the balance right. Clearly, we need to look at these sort of opportunities.

"These players are difference makers, but we need to consider our overall risk profile, our list profile.

"We need to be balanced, and we certainly can't put all our stocks in one player, notwithstanding what a great player Nick Daicos is."
The Devils have cash to splash, largely due to the $5 million signing bonus they have at their disposal.
However, Gale said the decision would ultimately fall on the list management.

"But philosophically, I'm probably more on the latter," Gale said.

"AFL football isn't without risk; we've got head trauma-type issues to be aware of as well.

"So putting all your stocks in one player is not without risk. So, anyway, make of that what you will."
