Sydney Swans midfielder Taylor Adams was knocked unconscious during an incident at Sydney nightclub, Club Rose Bay, on Saturday night and was taken to St Vincent's Hospital via ambulance.

NSW Police confirmed that Adams was in an argument with two men, one of whom punched Adams in the face, which sent him to the ground, causing him to lose consciousness "briefly".

Another Swans player was present during the incident.

"Just after 10.10pm yesterday, police were called to licensed premises on Vickery Avenue, Rose Bay, following reports of an assault,'' a NSW Police spokesperson said on Sunday.

"Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and were told a 32-year-old man was involved in an argument and a subsequent assault with two men.

"The 32-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by one of the men causing a small cut to his cheek, as well as being knocked to the ground where he lost consciousness briefly.

"The men left prior to the arrival of police."

Police said the two men involved in the assault were not known to Adams or his friend and there is no suggestion Adams or his friend were the aggressors.

Adams was released from hospital on Sunday morning.

The Swans released the following statement on Sunday afternoon addressing the incident.

"Sydney Swans player Taylor Adams was the victim of an incident across the road from an Eastern Suburbs establishment last night," the club wrote.

"Adams was taken to hospital after the incident for further assessment. He was released from hospital at 7am Sunday morning and will be monitored on a daily basis.

"The Sydney Swans does not tolerate violence in any form and is working with Adams and NSW police to identify the offender."

Adams has endured a luckless run with injuries since moving from Collingwood to Sydney at the end of 2023, managing just four games in the red and white in 2025. A partial tear to his Achilles in December also saw him sidelined from 2026 pre-season training into the January block.
