Unrestricted free agent Courtenay Dempsey has attracted the interest of the Sydney Swans, as he awaits a contract offer from the Bombers.

AFL.com.au has reported that the Swans have enquired about Dempsey, with the trade period nearing.

Dempsey’s manager, Shane Casley said that his client has attracted interest from rival clubs, however, remaining at Essendon next year is his first priority.

“He’s played his whole footy career at Essendon, but in saying that we need to assess any offer we get and go from there. Certainly his first preference will be to stay.”
