BUY

Changkuoth Jiath ($332,700)

The electrifying Hawthorn defender was once again a viable option on the weekend and is now one of the most traded in players following Round 3.

Back-to-back scores of 119 and 118 respectively have put Jiath on the map ahead of this weekend as he sits with a breakeven of -42 and an average of 102.

The 21-year-old looks to be a focal point of the Hawks' defence alongside fellow must-buy Hawk Jarman Impey and will be sure to give SuperCoaches a handy price rise in defence.

Lachie Fogarty ($382,600)

The former Cat had a day out against Fremantle in Carlton's first win of the 2021 season, boasting a stellar total of 163 points against the men in purple.

The career-high lifts his season average to 110.3 following scores of 78 and 90 in the opening two rounds and places his breakeven at a mouth-watering -29.

While his average is likely to fall, it certainly won't plummet as his price is sure to soar in the next few weeks. A stellar selection for you forward line.

Charlie Constable ($266,500)

An average of 49.0 and a breakeven of 26 isn't the best reading for the Geelong midfielder, but shall you take a further look into his numbers from this season you may see why he's a very enticing option.

Constable was limited to just 13% and 42% time on ground across rounds 1 and 3 after being handed the sub vest, yet still managed to score at a strong rate across both games, while managing a respectable 83 points against the Lions in Round 2.

With Shaun Higgins headlining a long-list of injuries at Kardinia Park, Constable's value to the team has risen and his job security under Chris Scott will be at an all-time high.

HOLD

Nick Haynes ($480,600)

For those that started with the usually-reliable Giants defender, you will understandably be frustrated with a season's start of 89, 53 and 60 against the Saints, Dockers and Demons respectively.

However, during Haynes' elite 2020 campaign, the key-backman managed scores of 34, 96 and 46 against the same three opponents and still managed to average 98.4 for the season.

Should he face a similar fate in 2021, a majority of Haynes' worst scores may already be behind him.

Caleb Daniel ($523,000)

Back-to-back scores below triple figures saw the Bulldogs' little ball magnet have his price drop by $22,500 and averaged placed at 89.7.

Despite the drop, price changes shouldn't be an alarming factor for you premium stars shall you stick to the golden rule of keeping them in your side unless you absolutely have to move them on.

While there may be some enticing premium defenders currently in the form of their lives (Jordan Ridley), trading stars like Daniel shouldn't be at the top of your list this early into the season.

Josh Kelly

At first glance, the silky GWS onballer looks to be having a sub-par start to the year given a hefty first price drop and an average of 96 across three rounds.

However, three scores above 90 still remains a major tick for Kelly, who is set to have his minutes in midfield increased following injuries to Stephen Coniglio and Matt de Boer.

The Giants face cross-town rivals Sydney in Round 4, with Kelly's past two scores against the Swans coming in at 119 and 116.

SELL

Tom Phillips ($398,900)

The popular mid-priced forward's percentage of ownership has dropped to 25.7%, but for the 40,000+ coaches that still have Phillips in their side... this is our warning to you.

With a hefty breakeven of 96 and three scores below that target so far this season, the warning signs are clear for the Hawks speedster.

With teammate Jarman Impey, Kangaroos captain Jack Ziebell and Crows forward Taylor Walker all valuable trade options given their negative breakevens, it is an opportune time to move on and cash in.

Hayden Young ($280,700)

There is very little reason to hold onto the emerging defender given the latest injury setback has placed Young on the sidelines for an extended period of time.

With a high enough price to either move upwards to a mid-priced defender or cash in and head in the rookie direction, Young is sure to be of great benefit should he be forced into your trade plans.

The aforementioned Jiath is the perfect candidate should you have the spare $50,000 in the back pocket. If not, teammates Heath Chapman and firms as a nice option to bank some extra cash.

Stephen Coniglio ($477,400)

With the Giants skipper ruled out for the next eight weeks following ankle surgery, those that own the struggling skipper now have their hands tied in moving him on.

A $51,500 price drop stings the back pocket, but there are several suitable options to choose from heading into Round 4.

Teammate Tim Taranto is sure to gain more midfield opportunities in Coniglio's absence, while Tim Kelly, Jaeger O'Meara and Ben Cunnington are enticing POD options in a similar price range should you be looking down that road.

ROOKIE WATCH

For the third week in a row, a Swans youngster was the star of the show when it comes to rookies.

Chad Warner (112 points) led the way against the Tigers on Saturday, while Jordon Butts (95), Nik Cox (93), Jack Buckley (91) and Stefan Giro (87) all impressed.

Formidable ruck option Matt Flynn continues to shine, amassing 89 points against Max Gawn, while defensive trio Heath Chapman (86), Chris Burgess (86) and Connor Idun (83) all had strong outings on the weekend.

Jacob Koschitzke (22), Braeden Campbell (29) and Tyler Brockman (29) were disappointing, but remain to have strong enough breakevens to hold for another week.

Editor's trade plans

Should either Harry Sharp or Jacob Koschitzke go unnamed this week, Heath Chapman is set to come into my backline given a strong Round 3 and low breakeven.

Happy to remain with Lachie Neale for another week, has to turn it on soon.
