Gold Coast coach Rodney Eade says the club is confident out-of-contract stars Steven May, Jack Martin and Touk Miller will all re-sign within the next month.

The Suns recently re-signed big men Rory Thompson, Tom Nicholls and Peter Wright and Eade says the remaining key uncontracted players are not far away from re-committing to the club.

“As a club there has been rhetoric that we can’t keep players. There are only four players the club has tried (and failed) to keep over five or six years,’’ Eade said.

“So it’s not a big deal. We have six at the end of the year who are out of contract and three are already signed and we think the next three will re-sign in the next month.

“Internally there is a different attitude to what is seen externally."

Gun onballers Dion Prestia and Jaeger O'Meara left the club last year, while Gary Ablett expressed a desire to be traded during last year's trade period.

Key forward Charlie Dixon and ruckman Zac Smith both left at the end of 2015, while Harley Bennell was shown the door following one too many indiscretions.
