Contract talks between young gun Harley Reid and the West Coast Eagles have reached new heights, as the star player's management has reportedly asked for contract offers valued between 15 and 20 million dollars.

Speaking on Triple M's Sunday Rub, journalist Ryan Daniels reported that Reid's management have put options to the Eagles that would mean Reid's footballing future remains at West Coast.

"My understanding is Harley's management have put some options to the West Coast Eagles on the table, to stay at the Eagles. One of them in particular is a very long deal," Daniels said.

"I would say it's in the nine to ten year range. The Kozzie Pickett stuff. You can imagine what the money would be like too.

โ€œIt would have to be between 15 and 20 million, and I would say we're heading closer to the 20. It's got the potential for Harley to look at a very, very long-term deal that would keep him at the West Coast Eagles and clearly there's some interest from Harley's side."

The development comes after Reid played one of his best games of the season, collecting 27 disposals and kicking two goals in the Eagles loss to Richmond on Saturday night. However, Daniels believes these offers were presented "weeks ago", with a meeting between club and management expected in the coming days.

โ€œThe West Coast Eagles have had these presented to them weeks ago, and they haven't necessarily done anything with it just yet.

"There's a bit of a breakdown in communication at the moment - I'm not saying that's a concern or that West Coast don't want Harley Reid. I found it fascinating that instead of the Eagles putting the offers on the table and going 'consider all these options', we've now had this conversation that's gone 'now what about this?'

"There's going to be a meeting in the next few days between the West Coast Eagles and Reid's management to talk through some more specifics on Harley."

While the question of where Reid calls home beyond this year remains up in the air, the Eagles playing group will be looking squarely ahead at next weekend's contest, with the second WA Derby on the cards.
