With just two rounds remaining in the home-and-away season, 12 clubs can still mathematically play finals football.
While Adelaide look set to finish in first place, positions 2-12 can all change drastically over the next two weeks, so each quarter of football from here on out is so important for those sides pressing for September action.
With the help of AFL Tables, we've looked at how your team performs on a quarter-by-quarter basis, and just how many quarters each side has won this year.
Adelaide
Q1: 9-1-10 (+82)
Q2: 17-0-3 (+237)
Q3: 13-1-6 (+182)
Q4: 16-0-4 (+164)
The Crows are one of just four teams that have a positive points differential in all four quarters (Port Adelaide, Sydney, GWS), and have won the most quarters all year with 55.
Brisbane
Q1: 5-0-15 (-152)
Q2: 9-1-10 (-109)
Q3: 7-0-13 (-120)
Q4: 5-1-14 (-204)
Brisbane are one of just four clubs who have a negative points differential in all four quarters (Carlton, Fremantle, Gold Coast), and are the only club to have lost all their quarters by over 100 points.
Carlton
Q1: 7-0-13 (-110)
Q2: 9-0-11 (-120)
Q3: 10-0-10 (-27)
Q4: 6-2-12 (-113)
The Blues have struggled in all four quarters of games in 2017, but their third quarters are easily their best. It's the only quarter they don't have a losing record in (10-0-10), and their differential is just -27.
Collingwood
Q1: 9-1-10 (-39)
Q2: 12-0-8 (+58)
Q3: 7-1-12 (-61)
Q4: 9-1-10 (+18)
Collingwood have been involved in a lot of close games this season, which is evident in their quarter by quarter score breakdowns. The Pies have been involved in one game with a margin over 50 points, but only have a positive record in their second quarters (12-0-8).
Essendon
Q1: 14-0-6 (+162)
Q2: 7-3-10 (-26)
Q3: 8-1-11 (-26)
Q4: 10-0-10 (-27)
Essendon's first quarters are among the best in the league, although after quarter time, the Bombers usually struggle, posting negative differentials in their second, third and fourth quarters.
Fremantle
Q1: 5-1-14 (-212)
Q2: 6-2-12 (-123)
Q3: 10-0-10 (-4)
Q4: 6-1-13 (-95)
The Dockers have won just five first quarters so far this season and have a points differential of -212 in opening terms, which is by far the worst number in first quarters. Only in the third quarter do they not have a losing record (10-0-10).
Geelong
Q1: 9-1-10 (-69)
Q2: 11-0-9 (+125)
Q3: 11-0-9 (-42)
Q4:ย 13-0-7 (+247)
Geelong seem to do their best work when the opposition players are tiring, as their second and fourth quarters are very strong. Their fourth term efforts in particular are brilliant, with their +247 the most one-sided points differential across the entire league.
Gold Coast
Q1: 12-0-8 (-82)
Q2: 8-0-12 (-106)
Q3: 7-0-13 (-3)
Q4: 3-1-16 (-216)
Surprisingly, even though Gold Coast have won 12 first quarters this season and only lost eight, they've still got a -82 differential. Their third quarter figures are also interesting, given they've lost six more than they've won, but still have a differential of just -3.
Greater Western Sydney
Q1: 12-1-7 (+52)
Q2: 9-1-10 (+50)
Q3: 11-0-9 (+29)
Q4: 14-1-5 (+161)
Basically, if the Giants haven't put you away by three-quarter time, they will in the final term. GWS' +161 in the last quarter is one of the best in the league, and they also have a positive differential in all four quarters, despite winning just nine second terms.
Hawthorn
Q1: 11-1-8 (+69)
Q2: 9-0-11 (-37)
Q3: 6-0-14 (-211)
Q4: 12-0-8 (-14)
Despite Hawthorn's resurgence over the past few months, they've still failed to rectify their problems in the third quarter. Their -211 differential is the worst in the league in third terms, and they've only won six third quarters all season.
Melbourne
Q1: 10-0-10 (-101)
Q2: 11-2-7 (+79)
Q3: 11-0-9 (+78)
Q4: 12-0-8 (+48)
If Melbourne are in front at quarter time, it could spell curtains for their opposition. Their poor first quarters are balanced out by their positive differentials in the remaining three quarters, as the Demons play their best either side of half-time.
North Melbourne
Q1: 8-1-11 (+29)
Q2: 4-3-13 (-179)
Q3: 10-0-10 (-33)
Q4: 8-0-12 (-100)
Only Gold Coast in the final term (three wins) perform worse than North do in their second quarters, with the Roos winning just four second terms and going at a differential of -179.
Port Adelaide
Q1: 13-0-7 (+164)
Q2: 10-2-8 (+36)
Q3: 14-0-6 (+115)
Q4: 12-0-8 (+50)
The Power are fast starters. They've won 13 first quarters and are +164 during those quarters, which generally set the tone for the rest of the match.
Richmond
Q1: 10-1-9 (+110)
Q2: 7-0-13 (-70)
Q3: 11-0-9 (+16)
Q4: 13-0-7 (+107)
Richmond start strongly and finish hard, but it's their work in the middle quarters that has been their undoing so far this season. They've only won seven second quarters all year, and their +16 differential in third quarters is just in the positives.
St Kilda
Q1: 7-0-13 (-41)
Q2: 10-2-8 (+54)
Q3: 7-1-12 (-40)
Q4: 10-0-10 (-42)
The Saints have a positive winning record in only second quarters this season, and have been consistently just below par in their other three quarters, with differentials like -40, -41 and -42.
Sydney
Q1: 12-1-7 (+82)
Q2: 11-0-9 (+100)
Q3: 14-1-5 (+113)
Q4: 9-1-10 (+63)
After their 0-6 start to the season, the Swans have lost just twice, and it shows in their quarter by quarter breakdown. They've turned their season around and have now won the second-most quarters all year with 46.
West Coast
Q1: 14-1-5 (+100)
Q2: 12-1-7 (+56)
Q3: 9-2-9 (+2)
Q4: 8-0-12 (-60)
It's the fourth terms that have let the Eagles down this season, so much so they've led for 65.8% of game time this season, but only find themselves in eighth position. They need to tighten up over the next fortnight or it could cost them a finals berth.
Western Bulldogs
Q1: 8-0-12 (-44)
Q2: 9-1-10 (-31)
Q3: 10-1-9 (+32)
Q4: 10-0-10 (+13)
It's been a tale of two halves for the Bulldogs this season, with their first half differentials of -44 and -31 letting them down, and their second half numbers of +32 and +13 keeping them in games.
