Geelong captain Joel Selwood has sparked social media controversy after posting a TikTok video of him using his wife to mop the floor.
The tongue-in-cheek video, accompanied by an excerpt from "The Clean Up Song" depicted Selwood dipping his wife's hair into a bucket before using it to clean the floor.
He quickly deleted the video after backlash began to pour in, but not before the video had amassed 40,000 views.
“A lot of kids, boys and girls would look up to Joel Selwood, so what a horrible example of how to treat women he is showing them,” one person tweeted.
“What were you thinking? Not funny mate,” another commented.
Others came to the defence of Selwood, painting the criticism as a major overreaction.
“Two married people having a laugh in their own home, people need to get a grip,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“If anyone is criticising this they need to have a serious spell,” another tweeted.
