Jake Carlisle has returned to St Kilda following his 12-month doping ban.

Carlisle, like his former Essendon teammates who were also served a 12-month suspension, is permitted to train at the club until his full period of ineligibility concludes in two months, at which point he is allowed to participate in club directed media, commercial and promotional activities as well as of course competitive matches.

The Saints have also announced that Carlisle's two-game club imposed sanction for being filmed snorting what appeared to be a white substance, believed to be cocaine, has been served concurrently as part of anti-doping suspension.

This means he will be available for selection for the first pre-season game in 2017.
