Defenders

Back Pocket: Luke Ryan (Fremantle)

Ryan is quietly becoming a very important player Fremantle, as they rely on his intercept marking and neat foot skills from half back. Ryan recorded 32 disposals, 16 intercept possessions, five marks and three tackles in their one point win.

Full Back: Harris Andrews (Brisbane)

Andrews had the job on Jesse Hogan and completed blanketed him, holding him to just eight handballs. He also recorded 15 disposals, ten marks and 11 intercept possessions.

Back Pocket: Nick Haynes (GWS)

Haynes strong season will have him in All Australian calculations come the end of the year. On the weekend, his intercept marking was a highlight, as he recorded 20 disposals, eight marks (5 intercepts) and 315 metres gained.

Half Back: Bachar Houli (Richmond)

At the age of 31 years old, Houli is putting together a career best season. On Saturday night, Houli recorded 37 disposals (28 kicks), 13 intercept possessions, six marks, five tackles and 814 metres gained.

Centre Half Back: Jordan Roughead (Collingwod)

Roughead had the big job on Lance Franklin and fought admirably, holding him to just six disposals and two goals.

Half Back: Darcy Byrne-Jones (Port Adelaide)

On a scrappy day in Launceston, Byrne-Jones’ class from half back stood out, as he recorded 28 disposals (72% efficiency), eight marks and six tackles.

 

Centre

Wing: Ricky Henderson (Hawthorn)

Henderson continued his stunning 2019 season, recording 37 disposals (27 kicks), 11 marks, two tackles and 810metres gained.

Centre: Josh Kelly (GWS)

Kelly is arguably the most the influential midfielder in the game at the moment. Against the Demons, he recorded 31 disposals, three marks, ten tackles, nine score involvements, seven inside 50s and 609 metres gained.

Wing: Luke Shuey (West Coast)

Shuey was the most important player on the ground against the Crows, particularly in the last quarter. He recorded 33 disposals, ten clearances, three marks, ten tackles, six score involvements and 767 metres gained.

 

Forwards

Half Forward: Jade Gresham (St Kilda)

Gresham was the best player on the ground against Carlton, as he recorded 29 disposals, six marks, seven score involvements, six clearances and six inside 50s.

Centre Half Forward: Sam Reid (Sydney)

Reid won the Goodes-O’Loughlin Medal for his six-goal effort, which almost spurred the Swans to an upset win over the Pies.

Half Forward: Lachie Whitfield (GWS)

Whitfield has been spending more time up forward this year and it is beginning to pay dividends, with five goals in the last two weeks. On the weekend, he recorded 29 disposals, eight marks and two goals, as Corey Wagner was unable to quell his influence.

Forward Pocket: Michael Walters (Fremantle)

Walters kicked the crucial point after the siren to win the game for Fremantle and also recorded 25 disposals and two goals.

Full Forward: Jack Gunston (Hawthorn)

Took the game away from the Power in the first quarter with two first quarter goals, before finishing with six for the match, to go along with 21 disposals and nine marks.

Forward Pocket: Harrison Himmelberg (GWS)

Himmelberg managed five goals, seven marks and 18 disposals, as he continues to build a lethal partnership up forward with Jeremy Cameron.

Ruck: Brodie Grundy (Collingwood)

Grundy continues to impact games like no one else can, recording 18 disposals, five marks, eight tackles, seven clearances and 64 hit outs.

Ruck Rover: Cam Ellis-Yolmen (Adelaide)

Ellis-Yolmen probably played the most complete game of his career against the Eagles, as he recorded 30 disposals, five marks, ten tackles, eight clearances, eight score involvements and kicked a goal.

Rover: Dustin Martin (Richmond)

Martin continues to work his way back to career best form after a slow start to the season. On Saturday night, he recorded 35 disposals (26 kicks), seven marks eight clearances, eight inside 50s and 707 metres gained.

Interchange

Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne)

Goldstein forced his way onto the interchange bench with 28 disposals, seven marks, six clearances and 57 hit outs.

Tim Kelly (Geelong)

A leading candidate for the Brownlow, Kelly continued his strong form with 35 disposals, five marks, four tackles, ten score involvements, eight clearances and 670 metres gained.

Adam Treloar (Collingwood)

The leading disposal winner in the AFL in 2019, Treloar continued on his merry way with 38 disposals, four marks and two tackles.

Bradley Hill (Fremantle)

Playing on a wing, Hill worked hard all day and finished with 31 disposals (26 kicks), six marks, eight score involvements, and 757 metres gained.
