North Melbourne has called off its Friday match simulation due to a gastro outbreak at the club.

More than 10 players have been affected and ordered to stay away from the club, significantly scaling back the Kangaroos' session.

The Roos' Wednesday session went ahead as normal, but the club is taking the cautious route with well over a month until the season begins.

North Melbourne's next session is scheduled for Monday.

It comes after Paul Curtis was struck down by an unrelated illness in the Christmas break while holidaying in Bali.
