The Port Adelaide Power are reportedly in the box seat to steal small forward Jesse Motlop from Princes Park, as contract negotiations have stalled between the 21-year-old and Carlton.

According to 7 News' Xander McGuire, while several rival clubs are monitoring Motlop's situation at the Blues, the Power are the most likely option for Motlop to move to, should he opt against signing an extension.

The Power will be playing on family ties to lure the goal-sneak home, with Motlop's father, Daniel, formerly calling Alberton home, playing 83 games in the teal guernsey between 2006 and 2011.

However, McGuire reported that Motlop's preference is to remain at Carlton.

Motlop had a polarising 2025 season, often criticised by the Baggers' faithful for going goalless on nine occasions during the season, where he played all 23 games.

However, in fixtures when Motlop contributed to six or more score involvements, Carlton recorded four wins and two losses, highlighting his game-winning ability when at his best.

Motlop will likely be the Blues' number one priority moving forward after the recent extension of Brodie Kemp, while the futures of Flynn YoungFrancis EvansHarry Charleson, Mitch McGovern and Will White at Ikon Park are still unconfirmed.
