Contracted Hawthorn defender Changkuoth Jiath has been identified as a player who could be a "trade target" for rival clubs this year.
Jiath is signed at the Hawks through to the end of 2027, having penned a three-year extension last August.
The 25-year-old has played six games this year, having faced a delayed start to his campaign due to injury.
The dashing flanker has hit some strong form in recent weeks, averaging 28.5 disposals, five rebound 50s and eight marks per game.
Given the Hawks' strong defensive options, including Jarman Impey, Karl Amon, Blake Hardwick, Josh Weddle and Bailey Macdonald, Jiath has emerged as a player of interest among rivals.
Speaking on Gettable, AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey has revealed Jiath is "catching" the attention of circling clubs.
"Changkuoth Jiath's hot run of form is catching the eye of clubs," Twomey said.
"'Cj' is definitely in the view of clubs as a trade target. He had a career-high 32 disposals against Richmond a couple of weeks ago and backed it up with 25 last week.
"'CJ' has another two years to go on his contract through to the end of 2027, but he's a player clubs are thinking could be dragged out of Waverley.
"It's one I've got my eyes on."
Jiath has dealt with a series of soft-tissue setbacks that have hampered his career, with the Gippsland Power product failing to play more than 16 games in a single season in his seven-year career.
The speedy backman enjoyed a breakout 2021 campaign before setbacks hampered his development, however, Jiath looks to have returned to ripping form that is sure to excite the Hawks and coach Sam Mitchell.
The Hawks have a long list of top-line players coming off-contract over the next 18 months. Lloyd Meek, Josh Ward, James Worpel, and Calsher Dear are unsigned beyond this year, while Dylan Moore, Karl Amon, Jai Newcombe, Nick Watson, and Weddle are off-contract next year.
