Riewoldt not convinced by Geelong or Collingwood

Do you agree with Riewoldt on this one?

St Kilda legend Nick Riewoldt isn’t convinced that either Geelong or Collingwood can challenge for the premiership after watching their clash in Friday night’s First Qualifying Final.

It was a game of two halves in a low-scoring affair, and Riewoldt feels he didn’t see enough from either side to convince him that they would be a threat for the flag when speaking on SEN Breakfast.

“My greatest question coming into the contest was … could either of these teams do something on the night that could shake the premiership market a little bit?” Riewoldt told SEN Breakfast on Monday.

“I didn’t see anything on Friday night that made me stand up and think oh wow.

“Collingwood had four scoring shots after half-time. In 60 minutes of footy, they had four scoring shots.

“Now I think Collingwood are in a much better position, clearly, they’ve gone through to the Preliminary Final.

“Based on what we saw, I would have them in front of Geelong.

“But I just didn’t see the elevation that I wanted to see from either team.”

Geelong will be looking to extend their season with a win this Friday night when they host West Coast at the MCG, whilst the Magpies enjoy the week off after the win over the Cats earned them a home preliminary final where they will play the winner out of Saturday night’s clash between Brisbane and GWS.
