Richmond is looking to "shape the finals" ahead of the final fortnight of the 2024 home and away season with clashes against September fancy Hawthorn and Gold Coast.
The Tigers have had a forgetful campaign that is set to claim the club's eighth wooden spoon in their history, which is Adem Yze's first year at the helm.
Filled with injuries and trade speculation, Richmond has struggled to get their season going but still feels they can play a part in how the finals look.
"We've obviously got to finish the season off strongly for our fans," Yze said.
"We've been putting in a power of work. Playing the right way, play with a lot of spirit.
"And if it means we can shape the finals, that's a little carrot that we'll take into this weekend.
"They (Hawthorn) are in terrific form and I know Mitchell will have them fired up, so we can't wait for that challenge."
Yze noted that there could be changes to the line-up for Sunday's game following a review of Round 22's loss to St Kilda.
The Tigers opted to go with a taller team under the roof at Marvel Stadium, which resulted in a reduced level of pressure.
Yze believes that the "balance" of the team could be realigned against the hot Hawks at the MCG.
"Possibly (we tweak the balance of our team to adjust our pressure)," Yze said.
"We played pretty tall last week. We wanted to give exposure to Jacob Bauer and a couple of our younger players. We played Samson Ryan.
"But the balance of our team will help that."
Midfielder Jack Ross could come into the line-up after returning to the VFL last weekend, with Yze saying he was "available for selection.
Co-captain Liam Baker will again miss this weekend's clash due to concussion protocols, but the club is "confident" he'll return for the last game of the home and away season.
"We're confident he'll play,"
"He's just ticking the boxes through the protocols and it was just unlucky that he did it (concussion) during the week so he misses two games.
"He's bubbly. He's shattered that he hurt himself at training and he's obviously going to miss those two games but he'll be fired up for the last game, that's for sure."

Richmond's Round 24 clash with Gold Coast will also be a chance for the club to honour Dustin Martin, who announced his retirement two weeks ago.
Martin is expected to farewell the Tiger fans at the MCG.
