VFL senior coach Jake Batchelor and head of development Sam Lonergan are to AFL coaching roles under Adem Yze for 2026.
Batchelor will take over the backline after spending five years in the reserves.
The former Tiger led Richmond to the VFL finals, playing off in the Wildcard Round, knocking off the Giants before losing to Brisbane in the elimination final.
Batchelor also spent time at Sandringham Zebras as senior coach, lasting four years at the AFL-affiliate club.
He played 84 games in the yellow and black between 2011 and 2017.
"Jake did a wonderful job with our VFL program this year, and we have full confidence in his ability to step into the AFL line coaching role for 2026," Richmond EGM of Football performance Tim Livingstone said.
Longergan's promotion to midfield coach, specialising in stoppages, will also bolster Yze's coaching group ahead of the new season.
The ex-Bomber has been with the Tigers for six years, but also worked at Tasmania state league and SANFL clubs before joining Punt Road.
Lonergan played 79 matches for Essendon across seven years, and added two more as a Tiger in 2013 before he retired.
"Sam has been terrific working closely with our young players as Head of Development, and his knowledge and experience will now be important for our AFL midfielders and stoppage work," Livingstone said.
"We are looking forward to seeing Jake and Sam continue to flourish in their new roles and for it to improve us as a team."
The pair will help fill the void left by assistant coach Steven Morris, who departed the club after taking a step back from coaching.
Richmond will soon announce its new VFL senior coach and additional members of its development coaching staff.
