Richmond key forward Tom Lynch will miss the Tigers' clash against Essendon on Friday night after suffering delayed symptoms of a concussion.
The 31-year-old made a positive impact for the Tigers against North Melbourne, nailing multiple goals and taking six marks in Richmond's four-point defeat.
Lynch however copped a head knock in a marking contest, which was assessed but deemed to be okay to continue playing on.
Post-game, Lynch began feeling symptoms of concussion and relayed the information to the medical team who confirmed the diagnosis, meaning the premiership Tiger will miss the Dreamtime clash against the Bombers on Friday due to entering concussion protocols.
Richmond General Manager Tim Livingstone confirmed the specifics.
"Tom had a heavy contest late in yesterday's game, and while he was initially feeling and looking OK and able to be cleared by our medical staff, in the hours after the game, he began to develop symptoms," Livingstone said.
"As a result of this, our doctor has placed Tom in the concussion protocols, and he will now be monitored closely through the coming days and required period of time.
“His health and well-being, as always, will be our main priority."
Should Lynch progress smoothly through with his symptoms, he will exit the concussion protocols ahead of Round 12's matchup against GWS.
The Tigers will also be without another experienced member in Noah Balta for both of those games due to the 25-year-old's court-ordered 10 pm curfew, however, explosive key forward Mykelti Lefau is on track to return shortly after a successful one-half stint in the VFL over the weekend.
