Richmond's Jonty Faull has received a one-match suspension for striking Carlton's Jacob Weitering on Thursday night.
As predicted by Zero Hanger, the second-year forward was slapped with the ban following an off-season change to the match review officer's (MRO) instruction.
Michael Christian now has the capacity to upgrade gut punches from fines to bans, with the grading listed as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact.
The Tigers will therefore be without Faull for the clash against Gold Coast next Saturday, with Mykelti Lefau looming as a like-for-like replacement.
After an injury-hampered 2025, Lefau looked set to be given every opportunity to succeed in 2026 after a strong summer, but was slapped with a one-game club-imposed ban for a drink driving offence in the pre-season.
Faull kicked two behinds and took six marks from 10 disposals in Richmond's Opening Round loss to Carlton.
