Richmond have announced Dylan Grimes and Toby Nankervis as co-captains for the 2022 season, replacing triple premiership skipper Trent Cotchin at the helm.
The Tigers confirmed on Monday that the pair will share the captaincy duties at Punt Road, with Cotchin handing over the reins after first stepping into the role in 2013.
Both Grimes and Nankervis have been key members of the Tigers' premiership glory in recent years, with the duo featuring in all three of their flag wins since 2017.
In a decision led by Richmond's Head of Leadership Development Shane McCurry, the pair are set to lead the Tigers back into finals contention in 2022.
Richmond senior coach Damien Hardwick expressed his delight in having Grimes and Nankervis appointed as co-captains for the season ahead.
"Dylan and Toby play football the way we think it should be played. They are tough, uncompromising, and team orientated," Hardwick said.
"It is fair to say we entered this decision expecting to end up with one captain, but it became clear to us after an exhaustive process that we had two fine leaders ready to represent and lead our football club.

"One thing we do value is the process itself and its wonderful to be able to recognise these two fine young men. We are incredibly excited to see them lead us in 2022."
Grimes, a life member of the club, is an All-Australian representative and best and fairest winner in his decorated tenure with the Tigers, having played 192 games since joining the club ahead of the 2010 season.
Nankervis has played 98 games for Richmond since joining from Sydney at the end of the 2016 season.
The decision to appoint shared captaincy is the first time in Richmond's history, while the Tigers are set to announce their entire 2022 leadership group later this week.
