Richmond has announced a pair of debutants for its all-important Thursday night bout with Sydney at the MCG.

The Tigers revealed on Monday that forward Jacob Bauer and wingman Sam Banks will make their anticipated AFL debuts in Round 17.

Bauer, who was snatched up by the Tigers at last year's Mid-Season Draft, has been made to wait for his Richmond debut but has shone at the VFL level this season.

The 21-year-old has slotted two after-the-siren match-winners for Richmond's VFL side this season, first against the GWS Giants reserves, and most recently last weekend against the Brisbane Lions' twos, handing the Tigers a pair of thrilling victories.

The 20-year-old Banks, meanwhile, chosen in Round 2 of the 2021 National Draft by the Tigers, is a smooth-moving, quality disposer of the ball from a wing position.

Richmond will be hoping the two fresh faces can help the Tigers bounce back from a trouncing at the hands of Brisbane last Thursday night.

The Tigers' clash with the Swans is fixtured for Thursday, July 6 at 7:20 PM AEST.
