Retired GWS star Callan Ward will remain at the club in a new role, taking on a part-time position as Business and Football Advisor for the 2026 season.
Ward's 18-year career came to an end in 2025, playing 327 games across stints at the Western Bulldogs (2008-2011) and the Giants (2012-2025).
His new role will allow him to remain in Victoria with his family.
"I'm incredibly grateful to continue my journey with the GIANTS," Ward said.
"This club means so much to me and my family, and I'm looking forward to giving back in a different way - helping develop the next generation of players while also supporting the work being done off the field to grow the club's reach and impact."
Ward will work across both football and business operations, "mentoring young players, contributing to recruiting and list management, supporting the club's AFLW leadership group, and reinforcing the club's culture, while also contributing to key commercial partnerships, fundraising efforts, and major club events," the club said.
"We're thrilled that Callan will continue to have a presence at the club and help shape our future both on and off the field," Giants CEO David Matthews said.
"Callan has been central to the GIANTS story from day one - as an inaugural co-captain, a fierce competitor, and a cultural cornerstone.
"His experience, integrity, and connection to the GIANTS will make him an invaluable asset in this new role."
