GWS' Adam Tomlinson is set to leave the club via free agency during the upcoming trade period, and is reportedly set to join the Demons on a long-term deal.

The 26-year-old is likely to join Melbourne according to The Age, despite St Kilda coming hard for his services.

Tomlinson is expected to sign a four-year deal when he joins the Demons, after 137 games for the Giants across the past eight seasons.

The midfielder was reportedly keen to remain at GWS, although the Giants were under salary cap pressure following the Stephen Coniglio deal, meaning Tomlinson's deal had to be amended.

The move will take Tomlinson back to his home state, where he played for Oakleigh as a junior.

Tomlinson has averaged 15.2 disposals, 5.8 marks and 1.9 inside 50s per game over the court of his career.
