Gold Coast will pursue Hawthorn forward Jarryd Roughead once again this off-season, although this time they'll try to bring the former skipper in for an off-field role.

Roughead's contract runs out at the end of the current season, and hasn't played for Hawthorn since being dropped after round seven.

The 32-year-old's 15-year career is set to come to an end at the conclusion of 2019, with the Suns keen to bring him in to boost their football department, according to AFL.com.au.

Suns coach Stuart Dew earlier this season made no secret of his plans to recruit Roughead in a playing capacity at the end of last season, but the Suns will try once again to bring the 281-gamer up north.

Former Hawthorn football boss Mark Evans is currently the Suns' CEO, with Roughead already having strong relationships with Suns representatives.
