REPORTS: Pies make offer for Beams

Collingwood have made an offer to Brisbane to secure former Pie Dayne Beams in the trade period, according to The Age's Jake Niall and Michael Gleeson.

The initial offer from the 2018 grand finalists is reportedly their first round pick, pick 18 and a future second round pick for the gun midfielder.

The Lions appear to be unwilling to take on board any Collingwood players as part of a package deal for Beams, forcing the Magpies to upgrade their deal.

Beams has requested a trade, however manager Paul Connors said this morning he would be open to staying if the Lions could not get the right deal.

"If a deal doesn't get done, he'll stay there, and that's why everyone's a bit obsessed whether he's going to demand or ask for a trade home," Connors said.

"I don't think he has to but behind the scenes, I think there's some really mature conversations happening, and it'd have to be very much weighted in the Lions' favour for anything to be done, so let's just wait and see.

"Dayne would be open to it but he's very happy to stay at the Lions as well."
