Fremantle are set to offer Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern a deal worth twice as much as the one the Crows will offer the 22-year-old.

7mate's Talking Footy reported the news on Monday night, with 7 News Melbourne's Tom Browne reporting the Dockers are ready to place a big five-year deal in front of McGovern.

Browne said Adelaide are offering McGovern a two-year deal worth just $350,000 a season, and said the Crows are "putting pressure on (McGovern) to get an answer reasonably soon”.

Fremantle's deal in grand in comparison, with the Dockers set to offer the Western Australian a five-year deal worth around $750,000 a season.

Despite McGovern's brother, Jeremy, playing for the Eagles, it seems as though Fremantle are leading the race for the Crow, but West Coast could become a player later on this year after a number of Eagles leave through delisting or retirement.

In his two seasons at Adelaide, McGovern has played just 31 games for the Crows, and has averaged 10.5 disposals, 1.4 goals, 4.5 marks and 2.5 tackles per game over his short career.

McGovern is coming off one of the best games of his career against Collingwood, after a career-high four goals to go along with eight marks and 10 disposals.
