Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan could be on his way back to WA at the end of the season, with Fremantle set to enquire once again about trading for the 23-year-old.

The Demons are firm on their stance suggesting their star forward isn't going anywhere, but the Dockers believe the lure of returning home could be enough to persuade him to join the club.

Herald Sun journalist Jay Clark told Triple M on Friday he believes a trade between the two clubs can't be ruled out.

“Melbourne publicly are saying they won’t entertain it, but I haven’t ruled out a move this year,” Jay-Z told Triple M’s Rush Hour on Friday.

“There’s some question mark around Jesse’s attitude, whether he gets a bit grumpy or his body language on the field, or is he embraced as much by his teammates?

“Jesse’s got a bit of stuff to clean up. We know he’s an excellent player but this isn’t necessarily about that.”

Hogan has played 20 games for Melbourne this season, but won't feature at all during the finals series after a foot injury ruled him out of the remainder of their 2018 campaign.

Hogan's last game came against the Swans in Round 21.
