Carlton key forward Levi Casboult is a free agent at season's end, and is likely to join Richmond according to former St Kilda CEO Brian Waldron.

Waldron told SEN's Hungry For Sport on Tuesday morning a deal for Casboult is as good as done, and suggested the 27-year-old would be running out as a Tiger in 2018.

“Casboult’s done – he’s off to Richmond,” Waldron said.

“He’s an unrestricted free agent, he’s done, he’s agreed, he’s gone.”

Over his 91-game career, Casboult has kicked 100 goals, with his best year coming this season, as he has 29 goals with three matches remaining.

Since joining the Blues with pick 44 in the 2010 rookie draft, Casboult has endured a difficult seven years at the club, especially in front of goal.

Casboult goalkicking struggles have been well documented over the past few seasons, but he seems to have rectified his problems in 2017, with the help of goalkicking coach Saverio Rocca.

The key forward has a goal tally of 29.18 so far this season, and is on track for one of his most accurate seasons.

His marking ability is up there with the best players in the competition, as no player has taken more contested marks than Casboult (48) so far this season.

He has also taken 41 marks inside 50, which ranks him inside the top 15 players in that category.
