Essendon could find themselves with two picks inside the top 10, in a deal which would see Joe Daniher move to Sydney and Tom Papley to Carlton.

According to AFL.com.au, the Bombers are set to receive pick five for their star forward, with Carlton's pick nine also to find its way to Tullamarine.

All teams would get valuable assets, with the Blues gaining Papley and the Swans Daniher, with both clubs having chased the two forwards for the majority of the off-season.

Two picks inside the top 10 would help the Bombers overcome the absence of Daniher, with fellow forward Orazio Fantasia also set to leave the club.

The South Australian is set to request a move back home in the coming days, with Port Adelaide his preferred destination.

The above scenario wouldn't be the only moves to happen in the deal, with Carlton intent on getting something alongside Papley for parting with a top 10 selection.

The trade period opens on Monday.
