Geelong forward Lincoln McCarthy appears to be heading to the Brisbane Lions after undergoing a medical at the club on Tuesday, according to Fairfax Media.

McCarthy has yet to request a trade to Brisbane, but it is believed the Lions have offered McCarthy a three year deal.

The Lions will also be hoping McCarthy will help them attract Fremantle superstar Lachie Neale to Brisbane.

McCarthy and Neale are close friends and would be interested in reuniting at the Lions.

Injuries have curtailed McCarthy to 29 games in five seasons. The forward only managed two games this season.

McCarthy met with Lions coach Chris Fagan in Geelong last week.

McCarthy can either take a risk and get to the Lions as a delisted free agent or ask for a trade in October.
