Collingwood and Carlton are interested in bringing out-of-contract Lion Tom Cutler back to Victoria, according to a report by The Herald Sun.

The 24-year old played 18 games last year, but injuries and the team's meteoric rise have seen him struggle for senior opportunities in 2019.

Cutler has made three senior appearances this season, averaging 21.7 disposals and five marks.

He has been in impressive form in the NEAFL, booting 13 goals and averaging 24.3 disposals and 6.6 marks from seven games.

The Lions are believed to be keen to hang onto the utility but are '"facing a fight" to retain him.

Cutler was drafted by Brisbane with Pick No. 33 in the 2013 National Draft and has played 66 senior games for the club.

Allen Christensen, Ben Keays, Nick Robertson, Ryan Bastinac and Ryan Lester are also out of contract at the end of the season.
