Hawthorn are looking to add another first-round pick in next week's draft, according to afl.com.au.
The report states that the Hawks are prepared to trade their future 2020 first-round pick to secure an additional 2019 first-rounder.
It means Hawthorn would have its current pick 11, its earliest selection since 2006, and a second first-round pick in next Wednesday's draft.
However, there is a road block in their way. Under current rules, in order to trade future first-round picks, clubs must retain its other picks in the draft.
The Hawks traded their 2020-second rounder during the exchange period, therefore cannot move their future first-round pick as it stands.
The potential move signals that Hawthorn don't expect bids for father-son prospect Finn Maginness until late in the first round or early in the second.
Son of dual-premiership Hawk Scott Maginness, the emerging midfielder was not among the 16 players invited to attend the opening draft night.
Hawthorn would be able to match potential second-round bids with its next selections, currently No. 30, 42 and 54.
