Melbourne, Richmond, Greater Western Sydney and North Melbourne have all registered interest in Magpie Sam Murray, according to AFL Media.

It was previously reported that Collingwood will not offer him a new contract, but could now look to trade him or Murray could sign with a rival club as a delisted free agent.

The defender has not played since August 17 last season after he returned a positive game day drug test with traces of cocaine in it.

The 22-year old was originally facing a four-year ban, but is now free to play again from February 17 and is eligible to return to training from December 17.

Murray showed promising signs in his 13 games at Collingwood in 2018, averaging 21 disposals, five marks and four rebound 50s and providing good run and carry off half back.

He originally spent two seasons at Sydney before getting traded to the Pies during the 2017 trade period.
